Interview with Jane Elliott

I had the privilege to interview this month the one and only Jane Elliot. Educator, Writer, Speaker, the one because of whom Diversity Education began. She is 87 years young and fiery as ever. She is a force of nature, a cause taker and a changemaker for indigenous people everywhere. We spent almost 3 hours together and in that time I was changed.

The interview started out in these days of Zoom with technical issues that were perplexing to say the least. She could not unmute herself and my instruction did not seem to help the situation. Concerned that I would lose the interview I suggested that we be happy with what had at the moment and stay on zoom video but continue to speak through our mobiles.

The sound thus was not the best. I had difficulty understanding her but after the interview once I

listened to what we had recorded, I realized it was more audible than I thought.

Fortunately, about an hour into the interview we were able to ditch the phones and speak through the Zoom microphones.

Though I lost a bit of the beginning of the interview what I did get was riveting.

I invite you to listen here.
